Let's get to know each other . . . a great way to know other members of the church is to participate in one or more small groups. These are groups designed to give members opportunities to meet others with similar interests and to get to know each other a little better. If you don't see a group you are interested in, but have an idea for one, please contact Debbie Grinton, at 648-2662. Book Group: If you like to read and then get together with others to have a lively discussion about what you have read, then this small group is for you! Each month a book is selected and the discussion is facilitated by members of the group. Coordinator: Beth Beckham; Dates: Fourth Monday; Time: 7:30 p.m.; Place: Church Parlor Bluegrass Music: The Lookout Mountain Band with the Dixie Darlin's is open to anyone who can play a stringed instrument and/or enjoys singing Bluegrass and Gospel music. This group occasionally shares their music in worship and the community. Coordinator: Debbie Grinton; Dates: Second & Fourth Monday; Time: 7:30 p.m.; Place: Choir Room Great Scots: If you enjoy "all things Scottish" you will enjoy this group. Scottish and Celtic topics plus outings to Scottish events tie this group together. Coordinator: Debbie Grinton; Watch the Church Newsletter for announcements. Men's Basketball: This is time devoted to basketball just for guys! (No kids.) Come and bring your friends. Coordinators: John Gordon; Dates: Sundays; Time: 7:15 p.m.; Place: Family Life Center. Men's Softball: This seasonal group works as a team - First Presbyterian Fighting Fish - as it competes in the city church softball league. It is open to men 16 years old and older. Coordinator: Robert Girardeau; Dates: Spring (check Newsletter); Time: TBA; Place: Citizen's Park. Aerobics: Shape up with friends to improve health and fitness while having a good time of fellowship. Coordinator: Carol Ryder; Aerobics on Monday @ 9:10 a.m. and Friday at 9:30 a.m. in the Family Life Center. Roller Blade Hockey: This is an opportunity for anyone ages 5th Grade and up, to participate in a fun game in a safe environment. Coordinator: Call George Grinton, 648-3802 for more information. Place: Family Life Center.
