"For God so loved the world that He gave..." There is no better example for giving than God's gift of His son whose birth we have just celebrated. What an awesome gift that we are allowed to be part of God's giving to His world! Helping to build stronger ministries through our church is our privilege and our responsibility. What a joy to be part of this church! You can make a difference in the ministry of our church as we endeavor to raise $550,000 in the coming year and a half in order to "Clear the Debt." Please consider joining us in this effort by sharing in the joy of giving.
"Now to Him who by the power at work within us is able to accomplish abundantly far more than all we can ask or imagine, to Him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen." Ephesians 3:20 We did it! Three years ago we pledged almost $1,440,000 to our $1.5 million "Renew, Restore, Respond, Reach Out" capital campaign. At the end of our three year commitment (in March 2009) our total received was over $1,471,000! By God’s grace we collected more than we ever imagined! But God isn’t done with us yet! In order to totally finish the job, we will be given an opportunity in the next few weeks to continue our abundant giving so that we can "Clear the Debt!" Watch for more information in the mail, and be praying about your role in serving God through Aiken First Presbyterian. We can truly accomplish far more than we can ask or imagine when we dream with faith and trust. You can help make a difference!
Dear Fellow FPC Members,
First Presbyterian Church is a congregation of caring, committed, and generous people who have always graciously responded to the needs of our church and community. In the fall of last year, a letter was sent regarding the status of our Capital Campaign as it was drawing to a close. In the worship service on November 4, Bill Tucker shared additional information regarding overruns and non-budgeted items that brought the total expenses over the original cost estimate. (Enclosed is a breakdown of the capital campaign overruns.) We are asking you to become part of the effort to “Clear the Debt” by the end of our 2011 fiscal year (February 28). In order to do this, we will need to raise $550,000, which includes projected interest. Please prayerfully consider continuing your campaign contributions for an additional two years. Enclosed is a pledge card that includes a place for you to indicate if you would like more information. Your response by May 15 will be much appreciated. We are very grateful that since the letter and presentation in the fall of 2008 we have already received 27 pledges! The Capital Campaign and renovation has been a successful, positive and growing experience for First Presbyterian Church. We recognize that current economic conditions have affected many of us and are thankful for your continued support.
Once again, we appreciate your prayerful consideration as we endeavor to continue our mission to our members and the community.
Very Sincerely,
Campaign Executive Committee I thank my God every time I remember you, constantly praying with joy in every one of my prayers for all of you…” Philippians 1:3 & 4 |
