Career Connections with College and University Students

Our congregation has many members working in various professions or are retired from interesting occupations.  We hold many college degrees from varied and diverse colleges and universities.

First Presbyterian Church of Aiken is seeking to become more active with students who are attending the University of South Carolina at Aiken or Aiken Technical College.  You are invited to join in this outreach to students.

Some of the areas of involvement are:

1.  Mentor students who are studying to enter your profession.

2.  Assist students with research projects.

3.  Serve as an advocate and helper for a student having academic difficulty.

4.  Lead a panel discussion or participate in a panel discussion of current

     issues and advancements in your academic area.

5.  Assist students in securing financial aid.

6.  Review and critique student reports and other writings,

7.  Share your professional journals.

8.  Host a home meeting for professors and their students for a professional

     social to which you invite your colleagues.

9.  Other areas unique to your education, training, and work experience that

     you would deem helpful to college and university students.
